VOTE PANIC!

RYAN SPEAKS IN THE STUDIO :
“Panic! at the Disco guitarist-lyricist Ryan Ross is tired of computer-tuned vocals and software-tweaked drums. ‘People have taken technology so far, to the point where music is almost sterile these days,’ he says from the studio in Las Vegas’ Palms Hotel, taking a break from recording sessions for the band’s second album. ‘With all those old rock & roll records, you can really feel there’s a character to them, because it was played by real people. I feel like a lot of that’s missing now.’ It’s a common argument these days, but Ross is an odd person to be making it: His own band’s platinum debut, the Fall Out Boy-plus-synth-style A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, was a prime offender, overflowing with maxed-out pitch-correction and baroque Pro Tools trickery. “That’s a valid point,” Ross says. ‘That record is basically programmed to a T. I mean, everything is lined up and perfect.’
Jon posted a new journal entry on theere site!
Jon changed his journal post from the one below this post to this one:
the last post was 5.17.07… that’s definitely my bad... maybe my laptop fell into the river one day while I was drifting in my wood boat under the sun catching up on some reading… and yes, I should’ve gotten it replaced or went to the community library to write you from there. maybe that didn’t happen but I know for a fact that I haven’t had an update in over 5 months.
a lot has happened since I last wrote… we spent some time in the Nevada Mountains, which was a really great experience for us. you might have seen some pictures. If not, find them, we look pretty funny. we were also in California doing some demos for the record, which was a good time for us because it was the first time we actually got to here what the songs we were writing sounded like.
now it is November, we are 6 tracks into recording our new album, and I couldn’t be more excited. I came home to Chicago for the weekend for my moms surprise party (happy birthday Mom Walker) and now I am getting on an airplane and going to finish this record with the boys. I do apologize for disappearing for so long, we have been putting all of our time and focus into writing for this album. we have not and will never forget about all of you who make this band what it is. be back soon.

SCRAPPED ALBUM
yes, we all have heard by now panic! has scrapped there latest album. the boys relised during playback, it sounded to much like a different band. panic wouldnt be panic if they didnt sound like panic! they started a whole knew album, and they should have it done by febuary.
with that being said, the 2 songs we've heard, "middle of summer", and "nine in the afternoon", may never be heard again. personally, when i listed to middle of summer for the first time, i was shocked, it didnt sound a thing like panic!, either way, i still love them. <3
